DC Motor

What is a DC motor?
An electric motor typically falls into direct current motors and alternating current motors. We mainly produce DC motors.
Electric motors that run on direct current electricity are named DC motors. The most commonly used direct current motors are brushless DC motors and brushed DC motors. The former has the advantages like long service life, low maintenance cost, and high efficiency, etc. The advantages of the latter include low initial cost and simple speed control, and so on. Synchronous DC motors, which include BLDC motors and stepper motors, etc. usually generate torque depending on external commutation.

About our DC motors
Based on advanced computer design software, our DC motors are designed with totally eight levels of shaft center heights. Thus, they have wide range of powers, torques, and speeds, to satisfy different transmission requirements.
Our DC motors are applicable for rolling mills, metal cutting machinery, paper machines, and so on. They can also good substitutes of traditional mine elevator motors and crane motors.

Why choose our DC motors?
1. The rotor diameter of all DC motors is optimized, so the electromagnetic load of our motors are correspondingly optimized and our motor has small Moment of Inertia/Torque ratio. Due to this, our DC motor is competent for impact load and rapidly changing load conditions.
2. This DC motor employs simplex lap winding, plus optimized commutator and brush holder. So, its commutation ability is greatly improved.
3. This DC electric motor is designed with compact structure. The motor base is made from special style sheet steel, and this enables us to make full use of the stator space. So, our DC motors are characterized by small size and light weight, and in the meantime, the stator accessory and the motor base form themselves into a high rigidity integral unit. These contribute to the stable and steady operation of our motors.
Additionally, the large outlet box and easy-to-rotating brush holder greatly facilitates the installation and maintenance of our DC motors.
4. The connection between the commutator and the armature coil adopts medium frequency welding or TIG welding technology. To prevent commutator risers from fracture and open welding, we adopt a special tightening technique to fix risers.
As for DC motors for reversible rolling mills, the commutator risers and the commutator segment are designed to be an integral unit.
5. An electric motor's reliability and overload capacity is extremely important. To adapt to the frequently changing impact load, our DC motors are all designed with compensation structure.
6. Our DC motor is designed with class F insulation. We adopt vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) process for rotors and stators insulating, so the winding has good moisture resistance, mechanical strength, superior insulation capability and thermal conductivity.
7. Due to our special design of armature core and motor base, our DC motors have good dynamic-commutation performance.
8. The power supply of our DC motor can be either DC generator or rectifier power supply.
When using rectifier power supplies, the following requirements on rectifier power supply should be satisfied. First, the rectification pulse number should be no less than six. Second, the phase control factor should be no less than 85% at rated base speed, rated armature voltage and rated load. Third, the ripple factor of the power supply should be no more than 10%.
When the rectifier power supply meets all the above requirements, our DC motor can work normally without an external smoothing reactor.
9. Our DC motor employs grease lubricating rolling bearing structure and non-stop refueling device. According to customers' demands, it can also be designed in sliding bearing structure.
10. The outlet box of our standard DC electric motors is designed on the right side of motors looking from the driving end. Left-side mounted outlet box is also available, upon request.
11. The installation type of our DC motor is in line with GB997 and IEC34-7 Electric Motor Structure and Installation Type Code. There are primarily three installation type codes, that is, IM1001, IM1002, and IM3011.
12. According to GB4942.1 and IEC60034-5 Electric Rotating Motor Enclosure Protection Level Classification, our DC motors fall into IP23 and IP44 ones.
According to GB1993 and IEC34-6 Electric Rotating Motor Cooling Method, our DC motors fall into IC06, IC17, IC37, and IC86W (ICW37A86) ones.

Performances of our electric DC motors
1. The rated voltage of our electric direct current motor falls into 7 levels, that is, 220V, 330V, 440V, 550V, 660V, 750V, and 850V. Other voltage levels are also possible.
2. Our direct current electric motor adopts separate excitation. Its excitation winding has four lead terminals which are divided into two groups. The excitation voltage is 220V when the two groups are in series connection, and 110V in parallel connection.
Forced excitation is also allowable, but the forced excitation voltage should be no more than 500V. During forced excitation, the transient excitation current can exceed the rated excitation current until the excitation current gets stabilized.
3. Short period overload capacity of our DC motors.
